High Priest Ephod and girdle

After nearly 10 months of work (off and on), I have finally finished the ephod (the apron-like part) and girdle (or waistband) of the high priest. This was one of the most challenging aspects of the priestly clothing because of the unique aspect of the fabric. According to the Bible, the cloth was to be made of red, purple, blue, white, and gold threads (see Exodus 28:6-8). Needless to say, you don't just walk into Jo-Ann Fabrics and ask for Jewish High Priest cloth! Below are a few pictures of the various parts of the project.

  1. Beautiful. I am amazed at God's descriptions and specs of exactly what He wants with the entire business of the Tabernacle and all the accessories. He is a Master of all crafts. It makes it very clear to me that the first 5 books of the Bible were out of God's mouth to Moses's ears.

  2. I'M VERY IMPRESSED. I SO WISH I COULD OWN ONE OF THESE. DO YOU MAKE THEM FOR SALE OR WAS THIS JUST FOR YOU?

    1. Glad you enjoyed it! Sadly, it took far too long to make another one. It was about a two year project for the full outfit, so just not worth the time to try and do another one.

  4. Hi! Do you sell this fabric or know of anywhere I can buy it?

    1. I don't sell the fabric as it was a pretty difficult task. I have tried to find others who might loom it, and it has been nearly impossible. I hope that at some point I can find someone, but at this point, I don't sell the fabric.
