First Christmas Series Introduction

The above video series is devoted to teaching about the birth or Advent of Jesus Christ as recorded in the gospels of Matthew and Luke. Advent means “coming” and is a season when Christians commemorate the various “comings” of Jesus Christ into the world. There are three general Advents, first the birth of Christ in Bethlehem, second, the coming of Christ into our own lives through the Eucharist, communion, or sacrament, and finally, the coming of Christ at his second coming before the Millennium.

Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas and is a season of preparation. Christians will often take up a study of the birth of Christ, as they prepare for this significant holiday. My hope is that these videos will help you as you prepare to more fully welcome the Savior into your life.

As you watch these videos, I recommend that you first read the scripture block found at the beginning of each of the videos. This will help you have a better understanding of the story as found in the scriptures.

If you are interested in learning even more, I have several recommended books by various authors about Christmas on my blog that you can find here. I also have the full text of each of the videos on my blog with references, links and photos.

A special thanks to the Madeleine Choir and to Lyle Hadlock for allowing me to use their beautiful music.

And don’t forget, if you like my videos, please like and subscribe so you can know about other videos I create in the future. Hope you enjoy, and have a wonderful Advent and Christmas!
